As the spread of Coronavirus is increasing rapidly in the world, Scientists of many countries are constantly engaged in mitigating the threat of the virus. According to a new research announced by a senior US official on Thursday states that coronavirus an be destroyed by Sunlight quickly on hard surfaces and also in the air. Though the study has not yet been made public.

William Bryan, acting head of the Science and Technology Directorate at the Department of Homeland Security said to the reporters at the White House

” Our most striking observation to date is the powerful effect that solar light appears to have on killing the virus, both surfaces and in the air.”

As it is known that Ultraviolet lights has sterilizing effect and stops viruses to replicate.

“We’ve seen a similar effect with both temperature and humidity as well, where increasing the temperature and humidity or both is generally less favorable to the virus, ” he added.

Some studies shows that it’s difficult for the virus to spread in hotter temperature. However, the virus still spread in countries in which it was summer.

Bryan said it would be “irresponsible” to say that the summer will completely kill the virus.

President Donald Trump was seen promoting the research, he asked task force member Deborah Birx if it’s possible to use light and heat to kill the virus in people. Trump said “I hope people enjoy the sun, and if that has an impact, that’s great.”

It is expected that the spread of the pandemic can slow over the summer.
